Landfill gas-to-electricity plant completed in Mexico

Ener-G Natural Power and Biogas Technology, both units of UK-based Ener-G Holdings Plc, completed a 3.2 MW landfill gas-to-electricity project in Mexico.

Ener-G invested 4.4 million pounds ($7.1 million) into the power plant at the San Nicholas landfill. The plant features two 1.6 MW biogas generators. The company developed the plant along with the city of Aquascalientes, which owns the landfill. A nearby Nissan Motor Co. manufacturing plant receives 2.475 MW of generated output from the plant.
