AES Gener has submitted a financing request to the Inter-American Development Bank for the 531 MW Alto Maipo hydroelectric plant in Chile, according to Business News Americas.
The company wants to secure up to $200 million for the $1.38 billion project. Construction is expected to begin in late 2012 with the 267 MW Las Lajas and 264 MW Alfalfal II plants scheduled for commissioning in late 2016 and 2017, respectively, the article said.
