Coal-fired unit may switch to natural gas

Apr 13, 2012

Unit 3 at the 700 MW Naughton Power Plant in Wyoming could be switched to burn natural gas. There are three coal-burning units at the plant.

According to The (Ind.) Republic, plant owner PacifiCorp said it would be less expensive to switch to natural gas than to install new emissions controls by 2014.

According to PacifiCorp’s website, all three units have electrostatic precipitators and Unit 3 also has a wet scrubber.
