B&W wins O&M contract for coal-fired power plant

The Babcock & Wilcox Co. (B&W, NYSE: BWC) said its subsidiary, Power Systems Operations Inc., has been awarded a 10-year contract valued at more than $40 million to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for Ebensburg Power Co.’s 50 MW power plant in Ebensburg, Pa. The co-generation plant burns waste coal from mining refuse piles.

Ebensburg Power Co. is a joint venture between subsidiaries of B&W and ESI Energy, Inc.

Power Systems Operations has provided O&M services at the plant since it began commercial operation in May 1991.
