The 102 MW Oaxaca II wind farm in Mexico has started operations.

CFE connected the $690 million plant to the Mexican power grid on Feb. 6. It is owned by the Mexican subsidiary of Acciona. The 102 MW Oaxaca III plant began operations at the end of January, and the Oaxaca IV plant is expected to start up in March.

Acciona built the three plants under the independent power producer model and used 1.5 MW Acciona wind turbines. CFE signed a power purchase agreement for the output from the wind farms.

Acciona currently has the most installed wind capacity of any company in Mexico, including the 251 MW Eurus plant in Oaxaca state, one of the largest wind farms in Latin America.
