The Babcock & Wilcox Co. (NYSE: BWC) said its subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. (B&W PGG), has been selected as the environmental control technology provider for several of Luminant's coal-fired power plants.

During the fourth quarter of 2011, B&W PGG signed contracts totaling about $65 million to design and supply emissions control equipment for four of Luminant's coal-fired power plants, including construction at two of these plants. B&W said it also expects to announce additional environmental and construction work at Luminant facilities in the future.

B&W PGG is currently in the engineering, design and procurement stage of environmental upgrade projects at four of Luminant's coal-fired power plants in Texas. The scope of work varies at each facility, and construction activities are also currently underway.
