Apple reveals plans to build a 20 MW solar array and a 5 MW biogas system at its data center in North Carolina.

The solar project is expected to stretch across 100 acres, while the biogas plant is expected to provide 40 million kWh of 24-7 baseload renewable energy a year.

Apple’s 500,000-square-foot data center cost $1 billion to build, and is the company’s biggest data center.
