Westinghouse head announces retirement

Aris Candris, president and CEO of Westinghouse, announced his retirement effective at the end of March 2012. Candris will stay on as a senior advisor to the company.

Jim Ferland, current president of the Americas region, will succeed Candris as president and CEO. Ricardo Perez, current president of operations, was named president and chief operating officer.

Candris became president and CEO of Westinghouse in July 2008, first joining the company in 1975 as a senior engineer in the former Advanced Reactor Division.
