URS awarded two contracts from U.S. utilities

URS Corp. (NYSE: URS) said it has been awarded two separate contracts for power providers in the U.S.

URS was awarded a contract by DTE Energy (NYSE: DTE) to provide engineering, procurement and construction services for the installation of a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system at its 3,200 MW coal-fired Monroe Power Plant in Michigan. The three-year contract has a maximum value of $157 million to URS.

URS has also been awarded a contract by Ameren Illinois, a subsidiary of Ameren Corp. (NYSE: AEE), to provide engineering, procurement, and construction services to upgrade its existing communications network in Illinois. The upgrade builds on URS’ conceptual design work for Ameren Illinois and is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
