Nuclear Safety Associates (NSA) said it has purchased the assets of Omicron Safety and Risk Technologies. NSA is a provider of safety, security and engineering services to the North American nuclear market.

Omicron executes contracts in the Department of Energy (DOE) sector of the nuclear industry, with an emphasis on nuclear safety technologies.  NSA said the acquisition expands its pool of expertise in nuclear safety and licensing technologies.

NSA will continue to perform self-directed projects from Omicron's Albuquerque, N.M., office, which joins Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Columbus, Ohio as NSA field offices.

Omicron's president, Dr. Louis Restrepo, will join the NSA senior management team, assuming the position of vice president, business and staff development.
