MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co. has completed its acquisition of a 49 percent interest in the 290 MW Agua Caliente solar project in Arizona from NRG Energy (NYSE: NRG).

The solar project is expected to be completed in 2014, but the first 30 MW phase is scheduled to come online Jan. 19.

Pacific Gas and Electric (NYSE: PCG) has signed a long-term power purchase agreement for all of the projects generation.
