Iberdrola Renewables makes cuts to U.S. staff

Iberdrola Renewables, a wind energy operator, has laid off approximately 50 of its U.S. employees. About half of those laid off work in the company’s Portland, Ore., office.

The company employs more than 900 people in the U.S.

Iberdrola made the decision based on low energy prices, a poor economy and regulatory uncertainty, according to North American Windpower.
