The Babcock & Wilcox Co. (NYSE: BWC) said Charles G. Spencer has joined Babcock & Wilcox Technical Services Group Inc. (TSG) as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Spencer will oversee TSG's operations and projects both in the U.S. and internationally. Spencer will also be responsible for contractor assurance, operational excellence, environmental, safety and health as well as human performance initiatives.

Spencer has more than 25 years of experience in the nuclear industry with an emphasis on National Nuclear Security Administration sites and EM projects. Spencer most recently served as President of Washington River Protection Solutions LLC, where he led a $7.1 billon remediation of radioactive and hazardous waste tanks at the DOE's Hanford site in southeastern Washington.
