FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) said that its FirstEnergy Generation Corp. subsidiary has closed the sale of its 444 MW Richland Plant in Defiance, Ohio, and its 20 MW Stryker Plant in Stryker, Ohio, to Richland-Stryker LLC for $80 million. Richland-Stryker is a unit of privately held Quintana Infrastructure & Development.
FirstEnergy operated both plants as natural gas-fired peaking facilities, placing them in service only during high electrical usage periods.
