Companies in Uruguay have demanded changes in the tariffs in the biomass sector so that it becomes more attractive and lucrative to businesses in the face of the tough economic situation in the country.
According to a report by NoticiasFinancieras, while many of the wind energy auctions led by the government receive six times the original offer, in biomass the opposite is true.
Furthermore, a decree signed by the government to promote biomass fuelled power generation by at least 200 MW has attracted very interest so far.
