CEZ gets EUR52/MWh for 2012 electricity

CEZ, the Czech utility, has received more than EUR52 ($75) per MWh on average for pre-sold 2012 electricity and around EUR54 for its 2013 capacity, its sales chief Alan Svoboda said.

According to Reuters, Svoboda said he saw domestic power consumption to grow 1 per cent to 2 per cent in 2011. CEZ has sold about 5 per cent of 2014 baseload power, for an average of EUR56.

The prices for pre-sold electricity have risen in recent months due to Germany's decision to shutter a number of nuclear power plants, a move which has boosted long-term electricity prices.
