Invensys Operations Management signed an agreement with China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. Ltd. to provide safety and distributed control systems and solutions for Fujian Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, units 3 and 4, two 1,000 MW nuclear power units under construction in Fujian province in southeast China.

Under terms of the contract, Invensys will provide its Triconex critical control, Foxboro I/A Series distributed control systems and human-machine interface solutions.

A news release said this is the third contract awarded to Invensys by China Nuclear Power, following agreements the companies reached in 2008 and 2010 for the development and implementation of several large-scale safety and non-safety distributed control systems, including fully digitized main control rooms. In total, Invensys safety and control system technology is being installed at eight nuclear power units under construction in the Fujian, Zhejiang and Hainan provinces.
