
28 May 2010 - An international tender for a number of wind-generated electricity plants with a total capacity of 1 GW will be offered before the end of the year to local and foreign investors, reported Al-Ahram newspaper quoting the Energy Minister Hassan Younes.
The sector's plan until 2027 aims to add 58 GW of generation capacity, 77 000 MVA of transformer plants and 244 000 km of distribution lines for different stresses, Beltone Financial reported.
Investments for these expansions are estimated to reach $110bn, the minister said.
