22 April 2010-- Minnesota Power officials completed a three-year, $240 million project to reduce air pollution from unit 3 at the Boswell Energy Center along the Mississippi River. The improvements were made to comply with federal clean air regulations.
Utility officials say mercury, sulfur dioxide and particulate emissions will be reduced by more than 90 percent and nitrogen oxides by more than 80 percent from the coal-fired power plant.
