9 March 2010-- Fluor Corp. and Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. have formed an alliance with Fluor's Power Group to market and sell carbon capture systems for existing coal-fired power plants in the United States and Canada.

Fluor and B&W will jointly market and provide project execution for Fluor's Econamine FG PlusSM technology. The process uses an amine-based solvent to capture carbon dioxide (CO2), which then can be permanently stored or used in other industrial applications.

Both companies will provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services for the Econamine technology and B&W will use and market it.
