Siemens picked for CCS study at coal-fired plant

10 February 2010-- Longview Power, LLC has selected Siemens Energy to conduct a study analyzing post-combustion carbon dioxide (CO2) capture technology at the $2 billion, 695 MW Longview power plant, a supercritical pulverized coal-fired plant in West Virginia.

The study will include process design activities focused on the potential application of Siemens’ second generation amino acid salt post-combustion CO2 capture (POSTCAP) process. In addition to the power generation equipment, Siemens provided the air quality control system for the plant.
