9 February 2010-- The first of two new 615 MW coal-fired units at We Power's $2.3 billion Oak Creek power plant in Wisconsin is now in commercial operations.
Work on the second 615 MW unit continues and Bechtel Power Corp., the project's general contractor, expects it to be complete by the end of August. We Energies operates and maintains the plant.
We Energies is also upgrading the emission control equipment at the adjacent 1,135 MW South Oak Creek coal plant.
