Ameren installs $1bn upgrades at coal-fired plants

6 January 2010-- Ameren Energy Resources Co. LLC (AER), a unit of Ameren Corp., completed more than $1 billion worth of upgrades at two coal-fired plants in Illinois.

AER installed scrubbers on one unit each at its Duck Creek and Coffeen power plants.

The company is expecting to complete installation of a third scrubber and electrostatic precipitator in 2010 on Unit 2 of the Coffeen Plant. In 2009, a new precipitator was also installed at the Duck Creek Plant.
