17 November 2009-- The U.S. Renewable Energy Group (US-REG), a private equity firm, signed a cooperation agreement with China-based A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd. to develop and build a new production and assembly plant in the U.S. that is expected to supply 1,100 MW of wind turbines to projects in North and South America yearly. The agreement includes key wind turbine components being sourced from U.S. manufacturers.

Shenyang Power Group, of which A-Power is a shareholder, signed an agreement in October with US-REG to develop a $1.5 billion, 600 MW wind farm in Texas. A-Power will supply the turbines.
