23 November 2009-- NRG Solar LLC, a unit of NRG Energy, has acquired the 21 MW Blythe Solar Project from First Solar. Terms were not disclosed. The facility is considered one of the first and largest utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects in California.

First Solar will complete construction on and test the project, which uses 350,000 PV solar modules. Southern California Edison will buy the output under a 20-year power purchase agreement when it comes online, expected in 2011.
