11/30/2009

30 November 2009 - Emerson Process Management has been awarded a contract to update two units at the 4400 MW Belchatow Power Plant in Poland, one of the largest lignite fired power plants in Europe.

This project is part of a major reconstruction and modernization program intended to improve performance, increase availability and reduce the environmental impact of the plant's units 5 and 6.

Operated by the state-owned PGE (Polska Grupa Energetyczna), the Belchatow Power Plant consists of twelve 370 MW units. A new unit is to be completed by the end of 2010 that will provide an additional 850 MW of capacity. Emerson previously updated units 3 and 4 at Belchatow.

Emerson will be responsible for modernizing the instrumentation, control and electrical subsystems.
