Belgium's Enfinity, Titan Energy to build 1 GW of solar PV in India's Andhra Pradesh

16 November 2009 - Enfinity, a Belgium-based renewable energy developer, and Titan Energy Systems, a manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) modules, are to collaborate on developing, financing and constructing 1 GW of solar PV installations in Andhra Pradesh, India in the coming five years.

Enfinity has said that Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), an undertaking of the government of Andhra Pradesh, will allocate in long lease 3000 acres of land in the villages of Thumalla, Dademavaripalli, Pulikuntapalli, Karimireddypalli and Lokogipalli, and at the industrial park of Amadugur near Kadiri, all in the Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh.

The Belgian firm said that it would develop and finance the project while Titan Energy Systems will act as a contractor and supplier of the PV modules. Enfinity and Titan will establish a special purpose joint venture for this purpose.
