99 MW wind expansion completed

20 November 2009-- NextEra Energy Resources completed the installation of 33 additional wind turbines at the Wilton Wind Energy Center, bringing the total capacity up to 99 MW. The expansion began in July and was completed in late October.

The wind farm in North Dakota features 66, 1.5 MW wind turbines. Basin Electric Power Co-op is buying all of the power generated from the project and selling it to Western Area Power Administration for the first three years of operation.
