12 October 2009-- Areva DZ signed a five-year alliance with Tennessee Valley Authority to provide a range of specialized services to TVA's nuclear power plants.
Areva DZ, a joint venture between Areva and Day & Zimmermann, will provide boiling water reactor and pressurized water reactor refueling services, parts and materials and PWR refueling tool maintenance and steam generator services for all of the plants, according to the agreement.
The nuclear power plants to be serviced are Browns Ferry in Alabama and Sequoyah and Watts Bar in Tennessee. A second Watts Bar unit currently under construction will also be included when it goes online.
The three sites combined produce about 6,900 MW of electricity.
