3 September 2009-- Intermountain Power Agency officials pulled the plug on Unit 3, a planned 900 MW coal-fired unit. IPA officials sent a letter to the state of Utah to scrap the pollution permit granted to the company back in 2004. State officials responded with a letter saying the request had been granted.
The entire project consisted of the 1,800 MW power generating station, two transmission systems, microwave communication system and railcar service center.
If IPA decides to build something else at the site, it will seek a new permit.
