Shaw Group signs Chinese nuclear power contract

29 April 2009 — The Shaw Group signed a task-order based contract with China's State Nuclear Power Technology Corp., allowing both companies to issue tasks to work together in growing nuclear infrastructure businesses.

China plans to build at least 30 new nuclear plants by 2020. Shaw is currently under contract with the China-based company to provide engineering, procurement, commissioning, information management and project management services for four AP1000 nuclear plants being built at the Haiyang nuclear power plant project and the Sanmen nuclear power plant project.
