16 April 2009 — The first phase of wind farm planned by Dominion and BP Wind Energy is operational with an initial capacity of 440 MW. The companies said the Fowler Ridge Wind Farm in Indiana could have a 750 MW capacity in the future.
BP and Dominion are partners on 200 MW of the wind farm's capacity. American Electric Power units Indiana Michigan Power and Appalachian Power each purchased 100 MW under long-term contracts.
In addition to Fowler Ridge, BP and Dominion agreed in April 2008 to jointly own, operate and develop wind energy projects in Virginia.
