
13 November 2008 -- The American Wind Energy Association announced the appointment of Denise Bode as its new CEO, effective January 2, 2009.
Bode will succeed Randall S. Swisher, who is retiring after a 19-year stint with AWEA.
Bode, who is currently CEO of the American Clean Skies Foundation, is a nationally recognized energy policy expert and served for nine years on the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
Her experience in the energy field includes seven years as President of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and nine years on the staff of then–U.S. Senator David Boren (D-OK) as his legal counsel, focusing on the areas of energy and taxation.
AWEA has more than 1,500 members and has its headquarters in Washington, D.C.
