
5 August 2008 - An Alstom-led consortium with Duro Felguera engineering group was awarded a turnkey contract by Hc Energia, a subsidiary of the EDP-Energias de Portugal group based in Oviedo, for the construction of a 400 MW combined cycle power station in Soto de Ribera, province of Asturias, Spain.
Additionally, a long-term operation support and maintenance contract was awarded and both contracts represent a total value of €340m ($527m). The order is expected to be booked in the second half of fiscal year 2008/09.
Under the terms of the contract, Alstom will supply a fully integrated turnkey power plant, comprising of one single shaft power train, integrating in-house core plant components: one GT26 gas turbine, one heat recovery steam generator, one steam turbine, and one turbogenerator.
The new power plant represents the eighth GT26 power station constructed by Alstom in Spain and the fourth with Hc Energia following Castejon 1 & 2 and Soto 4, signed in 2000, 2005 and 2006. The Alstom GT26 combined-cycle power plant fleet in Spain is totalling 4800 MW with this contract, including 3600 MW already in operation and 800 MW in construction.
