Boralex and Gaz Metro win 270 MW wind contracts

5 May 2008 -- Boralex Inc. and Gaz Metro LP won two wind power projects totaling 272 MW, following a call for tenders by Hydro-Quebec.

The two wind farms, located in Quebec, are expected to be operational by the end of 2013.

The companies teamed up with wind power manufacturer Enercon, which plans to open a wind power component factory in Quebec. More than half of Boralex's wind power installations currently operate with Enercon's technology.

The companies said they have already completed and filed the required environmental impact study.
