27 June 2007 - ABB announced at POWER-GEN Europe 2007 that it is to retrofit a distributed control system (DCS) and flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) technology for a pulverised coal-fired power station in the province of Leon, Spain.

The contract, from Endesa, will see AB supply the DCS for Units 4 and 5, each of which is 350 MW, of the Compostilla plant, which has a total capacity of more than 1.3 GW. The project will allow the plant to be run automatically, avoiding spurious trips due to aging systems.
