Spaniard elected president of Eurelectric

14 June 2005 - Spanish electricity industry top manager Rafael Miranda Robredo has been elected the new President of the Union of the Electricity Industry-Eurelectric, the association representing the electricity industry at pan-European level.

On 12 June, the Eurelectric Board, gathered in Vienna for the Annual Conference and unanimously elected Mr Miranda, Chief Executive Officer of Spanish electricity company Endesa, to succeed Hans Haider as President with a three-year mandate.

Lars G Josefsson, President and CEO of Sweden-based electricity major Vattenfall, was elected Vice President.
