Danes win Chinese flue gas system order

19 April 2005 - Following an international bidding process, the Danish firm Haldor Topsøe has been awarded a contract by Shenhua International Ltd for the supply of a flue gas SCR DeNOx system.

The system is to be installed at Guohua Taishan's 600 MW Unit 5, which is the last unit completing phase 1 of the 3000 MW coal-fired power plant located in Guangdong Province, China.

The system will be designed to reduce the emissions of NOx by more than 94 per cent and will not exceed an ammonia slip of 3 ppm in the treated flue gas. The catalyst selected for this project is a highly efficient catalyst, specifically suitable for high-dust applications. According to the schedule, the SCR DeNOx system will be ready for commissioning in December 2006.

"We are proud of being selected as the SCR DeNOx supplier for this important state-of-the-art demonstration project in China and we are confident that Guohua Taishan will benefit from having selected our technology and unique catalyst to comply with Chinese regulations and to ensure a clean environment in the future," says Frederik Søby, Director of Environmental Catalyst.
