28 April 2003 - Ormat Industries, the supplier of cogeneration and distributed power products or services in Israel, said on Sunday it received approvals to build two power stations and supply electricity in the United States as well as signing a deal to build a station and supply power in Guatemala.
US approvals were given for two power stations in Nevada and include a permit from the state electricity authority that validates the previously announced agreements, Ormat said in a statement to the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Building of one of the two Nevada plants is expected to last 20 months with the plant supplying around 30 MW of power and providing income of $13m per year from the start of 2005.
Ormat also said it signed a deal for building a plant in Guatemala and the sale of electricity to the Guatemalan state power company for 20 years.
Ormat said it expected to receive $10m per annum starting in the first half of 2005 from the 20 MW plant.
