Greek island contract win for VA Tech T & D

17 December 2002 - VA Tech Transmission & Distribution, the Austrian manufacturer of high voltage transmission and distribution systems and equipment, has been awarded a second contract by Public Power Corporation (PPC), the national energy supplier of Greece, within the space of a few months.

The turnkey contract involves the supply to substation of six bays of 150kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS), including installation of Protection and Control Systems, as part of the erection of a diesel power plant station in the south west region on the Greek island of Crete.

VA Tech T&D's customer, PPC, operates over 100 power plants in Greece, supplying the country's islands and mainland with energy.

With the completion of delivery and installation in 2004 VA Tech T&D will contribute to the reduction of possible power cuts.
